Perdre quelqu'un ou quelque chose que vous aimez ou aimez peut être difficile. Cette page traite du deuil, du chagrin et de la perte

Chaque vie reconstruite après la perte commence par le choix de vivre

Bereavement and grief is normal. It is the response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something that has died, to which a bond, affection or even love was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has physical, cognitive, behavioural, social, cultural, spiritual and philosophical dimensions. Bereavement could be described as a deep sense of loss, it creates a range of emotions which can change from moment to moment.

Everyone will experience a bereavement at some stage in their lives, yet no one will ever have the same experience of grief. Bereavement can be a shattering, and isolating experience. Sometimes bereavements are traumatic which adds another dimension to the loss. Some bereavement can be of benefit from other forms of therapy rather than talking therapies alone.

Counselling and psychotherapy at Tower Counselling can help by creating a safe space to explore the impact of grief, and your experience of it. Counselling or Psychotherapy at Tower Counselling can also help heal the trauma and pain of bereavement, and break your isolation by getting close to your experience of grief.

Tower Counselling offer affordable, accessible help

There are no set rules or stages of grief, it is a non-linear process with no time frame on it. It can be years after the loss when you feel it hits, and the sense of loss can be engulfing.

Bereavement affects everyone in different ways, and it's possible to experience any range of emotions. There is no right or wrong way to feel. Feelings of grief can also happen because of other types of loss or changes in circumstances, for example:

  • the end of a relationship
  • the loss of a job
  • moving away to a new location
  • a decline in the physical or mental health of someone we care about.

Emotions you experience can be vast and hard, common emotions are: anger, guilt, relief, deep sadness, pain, regret, and shame
